Microsoft Internet Explorer OBJECT tag could be used to read TIF folder name
| ie-object-read-tif (10665) |
Description:
Microsoft Internet Explorer could allow a remote attacker to obtain the name of a victim's Temporary Internet Files (TIF) folder. A remote attacker could create a malicious Web page containing script that would cause a second page to be opened that uses the OBJECT tag to bypass security zone restrictions and read the name of the Temporary Internet Files folder on the victim's computer, if the attacker could cause the victim to visit the malicious site. An attacker could use this vulnerability to obtain the victim's username and possibly read the victim's cookies, if the attacker could determine the exact names of particular cookies.
