Description:
Valve Software's Half-Life Server is vulnerable to a format string attack that could allow a remote attacker to gain elevated privileges. If a remote attacker has the rcon password, the attacker could pass malicious format strings to the server using the sm_playerstats user-supplied value in the statsme.cpp file, which would allow the attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the server with elevated privileges, possibly root.
