Description:

The MIT Kerberos Key Distribution Center (KDC) is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an integer signedness error. By sending malformed packets to the system that would cause a negative amount of storage to be allocated, a remote attacker could cause the KDC to crash.

Remedy:

Upgrade to the latest version of MIT Kerberos 5 (krb5-1.2.7 or later), available from the MIT Kerberos Web site. See References.

For Conectiva Linux 8.0:
Upgrade to the latest version of krb5 (1.2.8-1U80_1cl or later), as listed in Conectiva Linux Security Announcement CLSA-2003:639. See References.

Contact your vendor for upgrade or patch information.
