HP-UX stmkfont buffer overflow

Description:
HP-UX is vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the /usr/bin/stmkfont program, which is a utility for generating X and PCL fonts from Intellifont scalable typeface data. A local attacker could exploit this buffer overflow to execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges.

Remedy:
For HP-UX 10.20:
Apply patch PHSS_15423, as listed in Hewlett-Packard Company Security Bulletin HPSBUX0302-241. See References.
As a workaround, remove the suid permissions from stmkfont using the following command:
chmod 555 /usr/bin/stmkfont
