Description:
Symantec Norton AntiVirus is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by a vulnerability in the email scanning function. By sending an email with a compressed file attached that contains a file with an overly long filename, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with privileges of the Norton AntiVirus user, once the email is processed by the email scanning function.
