VNC rand() generates weak cookies
| vnc-rand-weak-cookie (11384) |
Description:
The server wrapper in VNC versions prior to 3.3.3r2-21 uses the rand() function, instead of the srand() function, which causes the server to generate weaker than expected cookies. A remote attacker could use this vulnerability to guess a user's authentication cookie and gain unauthorized access to the system.
