GTKSee PNG image file buffer overflow

Description:
GTKSee is vulnerable to a heap buffer overflow, caused by improper handling of PNG files with specific color depths. By creating a specially-crafted PNG file, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with privileges of the GTKSee user, once the malicious file is loaded.

For Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (woody):
Upgrade to the latest gtksee package (0.5.0-6 or later), as listed in DSA-337-1. See References.

Upgrade to the latest version of gtksee (0.5.2 or later), as listed in Gentoo Linux Security Announcement 200307-05. See References.
Upgrade to the latest version of GTKSee (0.5.2 or later), available from the GTKSee Web site. See References.
