XBlockOut -display command buffer overflow

Description:
XBlockOut (xbl) is vulnerable to a buffer overflow. By default, xbl is installed group ID (GID) of 'games'. By passing an overly long -display command line argument to the game, a local attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary commands on the system with privileges of the GID 'games'.

Upgrade to the latest version of XBlockOut (1.1 or later), available from the XBlockOut Web page. See References.

Upgrade to the latest xbl package (xbl_1.0k-3woody2 or later), as listed in DSA-345-1 for more information. See References.
