nfs-utils off-by-one buffer overflow

nfs-utils-offbyone-bo (12600) The risk level is classified as MediumMedium Risk

Description:

nfs-utils is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by an off-by-one error in the xlog function. A remote or local attacker could send a specially-crafted RPC (Remote Procedure Call) request to the rpc.mountd daemon to overflow a buffer and cause the daemon to crash. It is unknown whether this vulnerability can be exploited to execute arbitrary code on the system.
