Description:
Ecartis (formerly Listar) is vulnerable to multiple buffer overflows. A remote attacker could overflow a buffer and possibly execute arbitrary code on the system.

For Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (woody):
Upgrade to the latest ecartis package (0.129a+1.0.0-snap20020514-1.2 or later), as listed in DSA-467-1. See References.
As a workaround, apply the unofficial patch for this vulnerability, available from the Securiteam Mailing List UNIX focus posting dated 18 Aug 2003. See References.
