Description:
hztty is vulnerable to multiple buffer overflows. If hztty is configured with set user id (setuid) privileges, a local attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities to overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with root privileges.

For Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (woody):
Upgrade to the latest hztty package (2.0-5.2woody1.dsc or later), as listed in DSA-385-1. See References.
