Cisco PIX Firewall sending large amount of ICMP echo requests causes denial of service

Description:
Cisco PIX Firewall is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by the consumption of the pool of network address translation (NAT) addresses. A remote attacker can send a large amount of ICMP echo request packets to the global pool IP addresses on the firewall, causing the firewall to hold associated NAT addresses, resulting in a denial of service. The firewall must be rebooted or reloaded to regain normal functionality.
