Description:

PrimeBase SQL Database Server creates insecure temporary files during installation. A local attacker with knowledge of the /tmp/PrimeBase.log file can overwrite the file by creating an arbitrary file and linking it to the /tmp/PrimeBase.log file.

Platforms Affected:

  • SNAP Innovation, PrimeBase SQL Database Server 4.2

Remedy:

Upgrade to the latest 4.2 release version of PrimeBase (4229 or later), available from the PrimeBase Web site. See References.
