Opera escape heap overflow

Description:
Opera is vulnerable to a heap overflow, caused by improper handling of escape characters in 'HREF' tags. By creating a malicious Web page containing an 'HREF' tag with multiple escape (%) characters following the server name and hosting the page on a Web site or by sending it to a potential victim as an HTML email, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and cause the Web browser to crash or execute arbitrary code on a victim's system, once the victim views the malicious page using Opera.

Upgrade to the latest version of Opera (7.21 or later), available from the Opera Web site. See References.

Upgrade to the latest version of opera (7.22 or later), as listed in Gentoo Linux Security Announcement 200311-02. See References.
