Ethereal GTP MSISDN buffer overflow
| ethereal-gtp-msisdn-bo (13576) |
Description:
Ethereal is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking. A remote attacker could create a malformed GTP (GPRS Tunneling Protocol) MSISDN (Mobile Subscriber ISDN number) packet to overflow a buffer and possibly execute arbitrary code on the system or cause Ethereal to crash.
Consequences:
Gain Access
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of Ethereal (0.9.16 or later), as listed in Ethereal Application Note enpa-sa-00011. See References.
