Description:

INN (InterNetNews) is vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the ARTpost function, caused by improper bounds checking when handling control messages. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability to overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the vulnerable system.

Remedy:

Upgrade to the latest version of INN (2.4.1 or later), available from the Internet Software Consortium (ISC) Web site. See References.
