Marketscore (Netsetter) opens advertisements and obtains information

Description:
Marketscore, previously known as Netsetter, is installed as a proxy service and advertises itself to speed up Internet connections. Marketscore runs at startup and directs all Web connections through the Marketscore proxies. The program collects personal information that is entered in forms and browsing session information to send back to the company servers. Such information can include name, address, email, address, education, URL the user linked from, the user's IP address, and configuration information about the user's system. The program also logs Web sites that users visit and purchases that are made.
Marketscore is also an adware program (advertising oriented spyware) that opens advertisements during a user's Internet Explorer browsing session by downloading them from a server. It may replace the ads from other companies with its own.
The program may contain a silent auto-update program, installing automatic updates and software applications without any user interaction.

Remedy:
If the Marketscore (Netsetter) software is not desired, uninstall it from your system. Use an up-to-date antivirus or spybot removal program to determine if the target computer is host to a spybot program.
