| imail-ldap-tag-bo (15243) |
Description:
Ipswitch IMail is vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) daemon, caused by improper bounds checking of user-supplied input. By supplying a specially-crafted LDAP message containing a large tag, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer to cause the daemon to crash and execute arbitrary code on the system with administrative privileges.
Consequences:
Gain Access
Remedy:
Apply Hotfix 2 for IMail Server 8.05, available from the Ipswitch Web site. See References.
