Description:

nfs-utils is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a vulnerability in the get_reliable_hostbyaddr function in the support/export/hostname.c file. If the (Domain Name System) DNS is configured improperly, a remote attacker could submit an invalid reverse DNS lookup to cause the rpc.mountd (NFS mount daemon) to crash.

Upgrade to the latest version of nfs-utils (1.0.6 or later), available from the nfs-utils Web page. See References.
