Description:

The KAME Project IPv6 implementation in FreeBSD fails to properly handle certain IPv6 socket options within the setsockopt function. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to obtain sensitive information or cause a system panic.

Upgrade to the latest version of FreeBSD (RELENG_5_2 or 5.2.1-RELEASE-p4 security branch dated later than 2004-03-29), as listed in FreeBSD Security Advisory FreeBSD-SA-04:06.ipv6. See References.
