Description:

ssmtp is vulnerable to a format string attack. A remote attacker could supply a specially-crafted format string to the die or log_event function to execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges, possibly root.

For Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (woody): Upgrade to the latest ssmtp package (2.50.6.1 or later), as listed in DSA-485-1. See References.

For Gentoo Linux:
Upgrade to the latest version of ssmtp (2.60.72 or later), as listed in GLSA 200404-18. See References.

For OpenPKG:
