Microsoft Windows JPEG buffer overflow
| win-jpeg-bo (16304) |
Description:
Microsoft Windows is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, when handling JPEG image files. By creating a specially-crafted JPEG file containing malicious code, a remote attacker could overflow the buffer and execute code on the victim's system, once the file is opened. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by creating a malicious Web page or by sending a victim a malicious email.
Note: It is reported that NetObjects Fusion version 8.x is also vulnerable to this vulnerability.
