MySQL my_rnd buffer overflow

Description:
MySQL could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code, caused by a stack-based buffer overflow in the my_rnd function. A remote attacker can supply a specially-crafted scramble string to the my_rnd function to overflow a buffer and possibly execute arbitrary code on the system.

Upgrade to the latest version of MySQL (4.1.3 or later, or 5.0 or later), available from the MySQL Web site. See References.
