Description:

Ethereal is vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by a vulnerability in the SMB dissector when there is no policy name for a handle. If SID snooping is enabled, a remote attacker could send a specially-crafted packet to cause Ethereal to crash.

Upgrade to the latest version of Ethereal (0.10.5 or later), when it becomes available from the Ethereal Web site. See References.
