Description:

Microsoft Internet Explorer is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by a vulnerability in the MSHTML.DLL shared library, which is used for parsing HTML in Internet Explorer. By creating a specially-crafted GIF file, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with user privileges or cause a denial of service, once the file is opened. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending the malicious file to a victim in an email.
