Mozilla, Firefox and Thunderbird SendUidl POP3 buffer overflow

mozilla-senduidl-pop3-bo (16869) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

Mozilla is an open-source Web browser, developed by the Mozilla project. Mozilla versions prior to 1.7, Firefox versions prior to 0.9, and Thunderbird versions prior to 0.7 running on Microsoft Windows are vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow in the SendUidl function, caused by improper bounds checking of user-supplied input. By sending a specially-crafted message, a remote attacker in control of a malicious POP3 mail server, could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.
