Description:

Ruby could allow local attackers to gain sensitive information. The FileStore and PStore scripts create files with insecure permissions. A local attacker, with shell access, could use this vulnerability to obtain session information.

Upgrade to the latest ruby package, as listed below. Refer to DSA-537-1 for more information. See References.

Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (woody): 1.6.7-3woody3 or later

For Gentoo Linux:
Upgrade to the latest version of ruby (1.6.8-r11, 1.8.0-r7, >= 1.8.2_pre2 or later), as listed in GLSA 200409-08. See References.

For Red Hat Linux:
