Cacti auth_login.php SQL injection
| cacti-authlogin-sql-injection (17011) |
Description:
Cacti is vulnerable to SQL injection, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input passed to the auth_login.php script. If the 'magic_quotes_gpc' option is disabled in the php.ini file, which is not the default setting, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially-crafted SQL code, which would allow the attacker to gain administrative access and add, modify, or delete data from the backend database.
Consequences:
Data Manipulation
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest CVS version of Cacti (0.8.5a or later), available from the raXnet Web site. See References.
For Gentoo Linux:
Upgrade to the latest version of Cacti (0.8.5a-r1 or later), as listed in GLSA 200408-21. See References.
For other distributions:
Contact your vendor for upgrade or patch information.
