Description:
WhatsUp Gold is vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the _maincfgret.cgi script. A remote attacker could post a specially-crafted long string for the instancename parameter to overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.
Platforms Affected:
- Ipswitch, WhatsUp Gold 8.03
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of WhatsUp Gold (8.03 Hotfix 1 or later) available from the WhatsUp Gold Web site. See References.
