Description:
Apache HTTP Server is vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by a vulnerability in the mod_dav distributed authoring and versioning (DAV) module. By sending specially-crafted LOCK requests, a remote attacker, with LOCK method privileges, could cause an httpd child process to crash.
Consequences:
Denial of Service

For Red Hat Linux:
Upgrade to the latest httpd package, as listed below. Refer to RHSA-2004:463-09 for more information. See References.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS (v. 3), ES (v. 3), WS (v. 3), Desktop: 2.0.46-40.ent.x86_64 or later
For Trustix Secure Linux:
Upgrade to the latest apache package, as listed below. Refer to Trustix Secure Linux Security Advisory #2004-0047 for more information. See References.
Trustix Secure Linux 2.0: 2.0.51-0.1tr or later
Trustix Secure Linux 2.1 and Enterprise Server 2: 2.0.51-1tr or later
For Gentoo Linux:
Upgrade to the latest version of apache (2.0.51, < 2.0 or later) or mod_dav (1.0.3-r2 or later), as listed in GLSA 200409-21. See References.
For Conectiva Linux:
Upgrade to the latest apache package, as listed below. Refer to Conectiva Linux Security Announcement CLSA-2004:868 for more information. See References.
