Description:
Telnetd is vulnerable to a buffer overflow. A remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or possibly cause a denial of service.

For Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (alias woody):
Upgrade to the latest netkit-telnet package (0.17-18woody2 or later), as listed in DSA-556-2. See References.
For Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (alias woody):
Upgrade to the latest netkit-telnet-ssl package (0.17.17+0.1-2woody2 or later), as listed in DSA-569-1. See References.
