Microsoft Access databases use weak passwords

Description:
Microsoft Access provides weaker than expected security. The encryption scheme used to store such passwords within the database is extremely weak and could easily be broken by an attacker. Programs exist that can be used to discover the password of an Access database (.mdb) file.

Remedy:
If the safety of information within the Access database is critical to your application, use a more robust third party encryption system, such as PGP.
