Description:

PuTTY is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking of the user-supplied stringlen parameter. By sending a specially-crafted SSH2_MSG_DEBUG packet, a remote attacker could overflow the buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with user privileges.

Upgrade to the latest version of PuTTY (0.56 or later), available from the PuTTY Download Web Page. See References.

Upgrade to the latest version of putty (0.56 or later), as listed in GLSA 200410-29. See References.
