Cscope temporary file race condition

Description:

Cscope creates temporary files with an easily predictable file name. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability by launching a symlink attack and possibly gain elevated privileges on the system.

For Mac OS:
Apply Apple Security Update 2007-007, available from the Apple Web site. See References.

For Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (alias woody):
Upgrade to the latest cscope package (15.3-1woody2 or later), as listed in DSA-610-1. See References.

For Debian GNU/Linux:
Refer to DSA-1064-1 for patch, upgrade, or suggested workaround information. See References.

For Gentoo Linux:
Upgrade to the latest version of cscope (15.5-r2 or later), as listed in GLSA 200412-11. See References.
