YaBB shadow tags cross-site scripting

Description:
YaBB is vulnerable to cross-site scripting. A remote attacker could send a specially-crafted message containing malicious script embedded within the shadow tags, which would be executed in the victim's Web browser within the security context of the hosting site, once the message is viewed. An attacker could use this vulnerability to steal the victim's cookie-based authentication credentials.

Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of YaBB (GOLD SP 1.4 or later), available from the YaBB Download Web page. See References.
