Linux kernel igmp_marksources denial of service
| linux-igmpmarksources-dos (18482) |
Description:
Linux kernel is vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by a vulnerability in the IGMP (Internet Goup Management Protocol) implementation. The igmp_marksources function fails to properly validate the ih3->nsrcs IGMP parameter. If the kernel has been compiled with multicasting support, a remote attacker, with the ability to send IGMP_HOST_MEMBERSHIP_QUERY messages, could cause the system to crash.
