Description:

tnftpd (formerly lukemftpd) could allow a remote attacker to overwrite arbitrary files, caused by a vulnerability in the mget function of the cmds.c file. A remote attacker, in control of a malicious FTP server, could send a specially-crafted FTP response to overwrite files on the victim's system.

  • Gentoo, Linux
  • tnftp, tnftp 20030825

Remedy:

For Gentoo Linux:
Upgrade to the latest version of tnftp (20050103 or later), as listed in GLSA 200501-24. See References.
