CUPS lppasswd denial of service

Description:
The Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) is vulnerable to a denial of service attack. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to disable the lppaswd utility.

Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of CUPS (1.1.23rc1 or later), as listed in the CUPS Software Trouble Report #1023. See References.
For Ubuntu Linux containing the cupsys, cupsys-client or libcupsimage2 package:
Upgrade to the latest version (1.1.20final+cvs20040330-4ubuntu16.3 or later), as listed in USN-50-1 December 23, 2004 for more information. See References.
For Fedora Core 2:
Upgrade to the latest cups package (1.1.20-11.7 or later), as listed in Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2004-559. See References.
