Description:

Linux kernel version 2.4.x running on AMD64 / Intel EM64T systems could alllow a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the system, caused by a vulnerability in the 32bit system call emulation code.

For Red Hat Linux:
Upgrade to the latest kernel package, as listed below. Refer to RHSA-2004:689-06 for more information. See References.

For SUSE Linux:
Upgrade to the latest kernel package, as listed below. Refer to SUSE Security Announcement SUSE-SA:2004:046 for more information. See References.

For other distributions:
