Description:
Midnight Commander is vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by a vulnerability in the src/key.c file. A remote attacker could use freed memory to cause a denial of service.

Remedy:
Reportedly, this has been fixed in the CVS repository.
For Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (woody):
Upgrade to the latest version of mc (4.5.55-1.2woody5 or later), as listed in DSA-639-1. See References.
