DataRescue IDA Pro Portable import library names buffer overflow
| database-ida-portable-executable-bo (19042) |
Description:
DataRescue IDA Pro is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow in the parsing of long import library names. By sending a specially-crafted PE file containing an overly long import list of library names, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with user privileges, once the file is opened.
PEiD, a freely available tool for analyzing PE executables, versions prior to 0.93 are also affected by this vulnerability.
