Description:

Squid Web Proxy Cache could allow a remote attacker to perform cache poisoning, caused by improper handling of HTTP headers. By sending multiple Content-length headers along with specially-crafted requests, a remote attacker could poison the vulnerable Squid server's cache.

Remedy:

Apply the squid-2.5.STABLE7-header_parsing patch, available from the Squid Web Proxy Cache Web site. See References.

For Gentoo Linux:
Upgrade to the latest version of squid (2.5.7-r5 or later), as listed in GLSA 200502-04. See References.

For Red Hat Linux:
Upgrade to the latest squid package, as listed below. Refer to RHSA-2005:061-19 and RHSA-2005:060-20 for more information. See References.
