Description:
ngIRCd is an open-source daemon for Internet Relay Chat (IRC) running on Unix and Microsoft Windows. ngIRCd versions prior to 0.8.2 are vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the Lists_MakeMask function. A remote attacker could use this vulnerability to overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with user privileges or possibly cause a denial of service.

Remedy:
For Gentoo Linux:
Upgrade to the latest version of ngircd (0.8.2 or later), as listed in GLSA 200501-40. See References.
