Perl PERLIO_DEBUG environment variable buffer overflow
| perl-perliodebug-bo (19208) |
Description:
Perl (Practical Extraction and Reporting Language) is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking of user-supplied input in the PERLIO_DEBUG environment variable. By sending a specially-crafted long PERLIO_DEBUG environment variable to Perl, a local attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with root privileges.
