XView xv_parse_one function buffer overflow
|xview-xvparseone-bo (19271)||High Risk|
XView is vulnerable to multiple buffer overflows, caused by improper bounds checking in the xv_parse_one function in the xv_parse.c. If the XView library is installed setuid root, a local attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system to gain elevated privileges.
For Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (woody):
Upgrade to the latest version of xview (3.2p1.4-16woody2 or later), as listed in DSA-672-1. See References.
