Description:

The toolchain-source could allow a local attacker to launch a symlink attack. The toolchain-source creates insecure temporary files in the /tmp directory. A local attacker could use this vulnerability to create symbolic links from a temporary file to overwrite arbitrary files on the system with user privileges.

For Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (alias woody):
Upgrade to the latest version of toolchain-source (3.0.4-1woody1 or later), as listed in DSA-679-1. See References.
