Gaim IRC protocol plug-in buffer overflow

gaim-irc-plugin-bo (19937) The risk level is classified as LowLow Risk

Gaim is vulnerable to a denial of service attack caused by a lack of bounds checking of user-supplied input in the user messages. By injecting malicious characters into the Gaim markup in a conversation window, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and cause the system to crash.

Note: Multiple functions affected by this vulnerability include: irc_msg_kick(), irc_msg_mode(), irc_msg_part(), and irc_msg_quit().
