Description:

Rootkit Hunter (rkhunter) could allow a local attacker to launch a symlink attack. check_update.sh script and the main Rootkit Hunter script create insecure temporary files with predictable filenames. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability by creating a symbolic link from a temporary file, which could allow the attacker to create or overwrite arbitrary files on the system with the privileges of the user.
