Description:

Invision Power Board is vulnerable to cross-site scripting caused by improper validation of user-supplied input in the highlite parameter and the sources/topics.php script. A remote attacker could embed malicious script in a URL request to the highlite parameter or to the sources/topics.php script which, once the link is clicked, would be executed in the victim's Web browser within the security context of the hosting site. An attacker could use this vulnerability to steal the victim's cookie-based authentication credentials, obtain sensitive information or perform actions as the targeted victim.
