Description:

FreeRADIUS is vulnerable to SQL injection caused by improper validation of user-supplied input in the radius_xlat() function. A remote attacker could send a specially-crafted SQL statement which would allow the attacker to add, modify or delete data in the backend database.

Remedy:

Upgrade to the latest version of FreeRADIUS (1.0.3 or later), available from the FreeRADIUS Web site. See References.

For SuSE Linux:
Apply the appropriate fixed packages via the SuSE FTP server or the YaST Online Update, as listed in SuSE Security Summary Report SUSE-SR:2005:014. See References.

For Gentoo Linux:
Upgrade tot he latest version of freeradius (1.0.2-r4 or later), as listed in Gentoo Linux Security Announcement GLSA 2005-05-13. See References.
